Accessibility

Practical information should be straightforward to read and use.

Design approach

Pages use clear headings, labelled controls, keyboard focus indicators and responsive layouts. Content can be enlarged using browser zoom. A skip link moves directly to the main content, and guides include a print option.

Current position

This is the first public release. We aim towards WCAG 2.2 AA; a full independent accessibility audit has not been completed and full conformance is not claimed. Third-party sites have their own accessibility arrangements. Search needs JavaScript; the topic and town navigation remains available without it.

Report a barrier

Send the page address, a description of the problem and any preferred alternative format to the editor. If helpful, include your browser and assistive technology. Please do not include confidential personal material.
