Powys practical guide

Your arrival checklist

A practical preparation list for clinical fellows, specialty doctors, specialists and consultants—and a useful starting point for other staff.

Tick items as you prepare. Ticks are temporary, are not submitted and may be cleared when you leave or reload. Print to keep a copy.

Before travelling

Use this checklist to organise conversations with your employer. Requirements vary by role and offer.

During your first week

Local induction is essential. The public guide does not replace PTHB mandatory training or authorise clinical duties.

New to NHS Wales?

Our national guide explains the wider setting. Use it alongside employer-led orientation and role-specific support. Ask your team about buddying, educational supervision and any international-doctor support available.

Free learning for the whole team

ClinicalEdu.uk is completely free to use and welcomes doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and anyone interested in healthcare learning. Frailty, the Clinical Frailty Scale and comprehensive geriatric assessment are relevant starting points for community and older people’s care.

Choose learning appropriate to your role. Course completion supports development; it does not replace local induction or establish clinical competence.
